POLYMER-BASED JOINT COMPOUND

KLEIB S8 is a ready-made joint compound based on polymer binders, mineral fillers of optimum grain size and modifying additives. It is designed for finishing smoothing of wall and ceiling surfaces inside buildings. Properly selected rheological parameters allow easy application and processing. Owing to its properties it is perfect for final spackling on cured plaster, cement-lime, lime or gypsum coats, on plasterboard panels and concrete surfaces for all kinds of paint coatings. It can also be used to fill minor defects on the surface of walls and ceilings inside the buildings.

The working surface for spackling should be stable, load-bearing, dry max. up to 3% humidity. i.e, well-bonded, free of dust and any layers that may impair plaster adhesion. Excessively absorbent surfaces should be primed with KLEIB G1. In order to strengthen weaker surfaces, apply KLEIB G2 fine particle primer.

The compound is ready to use in case of manual application with a trowel. When applying with a roller or with and airless spray unit it is allowed to dilute the compound with up to 3% of clean water. The joint compound should be stirred before direct application in order to prevent air bubble formation and locking. Subsequent layers should be applied after the previous layer has cured.

Apply KLEIB S8 evenly on the substrate mechanically with an airless spray unit or manually with a stainless steel plastering float trowel while maintaining the layer thickness of 1-3 mm. Subsequent layers should be applied after the previous layer has cured. When dry, remove any minor unevenness with sandpaper or grinding mesh. Unused compound, tightly closed, remains fit for further application. Wash the used tools in warm water after work. We recommend using a nylon paint roller.

Average consumption is approximately 1 kg/m2 with the thickness of 1 mm.

The mix should be stored and transported in tightly closed tubs in dry conditions and positive temperatures from +5°C to +28°C, away from sources of heat. Protect from overheating. Note: Water-based product. It is permanently damaged when temperatures fall below freezing. Do not leave containers open once they have been started. The shelf life of the compound is 18 months from the date on the packaging.
