CALCULATE CONSUMPTIONKLEIB S6 is a gypsum joint compound for jointing gypsum boards with a suitable edge shape, without the use of reinforcement tape.
The joint surface should be free of any layers that may weaken joint compound adhesion, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax or the remains of emulsion and oil paint. The edges of the boards to be cut and worked should be primed with KLEIB G1 primer before jointing. All steel elements exposed to the joint compound must be protected against corrosion
The joint compound is prepared by pouring dry mix into a container with a measured amount of water and mixing until a smooth, uniform consistency is obtained. This is best done mechanically, using an electric drill with a mixer attachment. The joint compound is ready to use after 5 minutes and after remixing. Prepared joint compound mix is to be used within approx. 60 minutes.
In the first stage of work, the joint compound should be pressed into the joint with a putty knife or a plasterer’s float so that it fills it thoroughly over the entire thickness. Then spread the joint compound evenly over the entire length of the joint and smooth the surface. After joint compound is cured, the surface can be finally smoothed with fine sandpaper or polycarbonate mesh.
On average, 0.5 kg of the joint compound per 1 m² is used for each 1 mm of layer thickness.
Drill with a mixer attachment, putty knife, smooth steel plasterer’s float. Tools should be washed with clean water immediately after use.
The joint compound must be transported and stored in tightly sealed bags, in dry conditions (preferably on pallets). Protect from moisture. Shelf life in conditions that comply with the specified requirements is up to 9 months from the production date on the packaging.
