KLEIB S5 is a gypsum adhesive for bonding plasterboard panels inside the buildings, for typical mineral substrates.

The working surface should be dry, stable and structurally sound i.e. strong enough, free of any layers that may impair adhesive properties, in particular dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax, or the remains of emulsion and oil paint. If the surface is too absorbent, it should be primed. For these works it is best to apply KLEIB G1 primer. Substrates with very high absorbency, absorbent, surfaces painted with limestone or chalk paints and old and poorly bound substrates should be primed with a deep penetrating KLEIB G2 primer. All steel elements exposed to the adhesive must be protected against corrosion.

The adhesive is prepared by pouring a dry mix into a container with a measured amount of water and mixing until a smooth uniform consistency is obtained. This is best done mechanically, using an electric drill with a mixer attachment. The adhesive is suitable for use immediately after mixing and retains its properties for approx. 30 minutes.

It is recommended to apply KLEIB S5 to the entire surface of the panel so that it forms thick applications along the edges of the panel, at the distance of approximately 5 cm from the edge and in the form of patches with the diameter of about 10 cm and the thickness of about 2 cm spaced at about 30 cm. It is recommended to bond two or three adjacent panels at the same time to achieve an even surface. Clearance must be left between the panel and the floor or ceiling and between the panels. The joint filling with KLEIB S1 joint compound can be carried out after the adhesive has been fully bonded. Tools should be washed with clean water immediately after use.

Indicatively, 2.5-5.0 kg/m² is used, depending on the degree of the substrate evenness and the adopted adhesive method.

The adhesive must be transported and stored in tightly sealed bags, in dry conditions (preferably on pallets). Protect from dampness. Shelf life in conditions that comply with the specified requirements is up to 6 months from the production date on the packaging.
