KLEIB G5 Bonding primer is a ready-to-use preparation based on polymer resin for priming interior and exterior substrates before application of floor levelling mortars, joint compounds or adhesives for ceramic and stone tiles. Particularly recommended for use on smooth, poorly absorbent or non-absorbent substrates, such as smooth concrete, plasterboards, OSBs, terrazzo, ceramic tiles and dados. Thanks to the quartz aggregate content, the product creates an appropriately rough and coarse bonding layer on smooth and slick substrates, thus facilitating application of subsequent finishing layers. The product improves adhesion between coatings. It is water-resistant and has substrate-curing and adhesion-enhancing properties.

The surfaces must be dry and free, in particular of dust, dirt, lime, oil, grease, wax or the oil and emulsion paint residues. Anhydrite, gypsum, OSB and particle board substrates as well as strong paint coatings should be sanded with sandpaper and thoroughly vacuumed. More absorbent and brittle substrates should be primed with KLEIB G2 deep-penetrating primer.

KLEIB G5 primer is supplied ready to use. It should not be combined with other materials or diluted with water. After opening, mix thoroughly the contents of the bucket until a smooth uniform consistency is obtained. The application should be performed in dry conditions, when the air temperature and substrate temperature is between +5°C and +25°C. The product should be spread evenly in a thin layer over the entire surface using a brush or a roller. One layer should be sufficient in most cases. The surface drying time is approximately 2 hours. Another layer can be applied after the first one is completely dry, that is after approximately 4 hours. Further works may be performed after the lapse of at least 24 hours.

The preparation should be stored and transported in tightly closed tubs in dry conditions and temperatures from +5°C to +28°C, away from sources of heat. Protect from overheating. Warning: Water-based product. It is permanently damaged when temperatures fall below freezing. Do not leave containers open once they have been started. The shelf life of the compound is given on the packaging. Covered car transport required.
